Sinopse
Encerrando o percurso da Trilogia em Dança-Tragédia, Insanos e Beija-Flores a Dois Metros do Chão mergulha em uma ficção coreográfica atravessada por vivências autobiográficas e arquivos do corpo. A obra parte da imagem de seis indivíduos confinados há sete anos no porão do antigo Hospício da Praia Vermelha — espaço-limite entre contenção e delírio, memória e esquecimento, arte e abjeção.
Inspirada livremente na vida e obra de Arthur Bispo do Rosário — homem preto, nordestino, artista plástico considerado gênio por uns e insano por outros —, a obra constrói uma dramaturgia fragmentada que questiona o pensamento eugênico, os dispositivos de silenciamento e os abismos entre criação e marginalidade.
Insanos não busca representar Bispo, nem dramatizar sua biografia. Seu gesto é outro: ecoar as potências e dilemas que sua obra suscita nos corpos pluriétnicos e dissidentes em cena. Cada intérprete-criador dança suas próprias interdições, compondo uma paisagem de ruína e reinvenção onde o delírio vira linguagem e a exclusão se converte em presença radical.
Entre murmúrios e explosões, entre a clausura e o voo, Insanos e Beija-Flores a Dois Metros do Chão é uma ode à loucura como campo de criação e à arte como território de insubmissão.
Synopsis
Closing the path of the Dance-Tragedy Trilogy, Madmen and Hummingbirds Two Meters Above the Ground plunges into a choreographic fiction interwoven with autobiographical experiences and body archives. The work begins with the image of six individuals confined for seven years in the basement of the former Praia Vermelha Asylum — a liminal space between containment and delirium, memory and oblivion, art and abjection.
Freely inspired by the life and work of Arthur Bispo do Rosário — a Black man from the Brazilian Northeast, a visual artist considered a genius by some and insane by others — the piece builds a fragmented dramaturgy that questions eugenic thought, mechanisms of silencing, and the chasms between creation and marginalization.
Madmen does not seek to represent Bispo or dramatize his biography. Its gesture is another: to echo the powers and dilemmas his work evokes in the pluriethnic and dissident bodies on stage. Each performer-creator dances their own interdictions, composing a landscape of ruin and reinvention where delirium becomes language and exclusion is transformed into radical presence.
Between murmurs and explosions, between confinement and flight, Insane and Hummingbirds Two Meters Above the Ground is an ode to madness as a field of creation and to art as a territory of insubordination.
