MANIFESTO
PARA COREOGRAFAR
AS BRECHAS

festa e sangue.

Minha tecnologia é ancestral,
intuitiva, reaproveitada.
feita com o que se tem, com

o que sobra, com o que sobrevive
.

Não acredito na neutralidade da cena.

Toda escolha estética é uma escolha política.

Por isso, meu compromisso é
com os corpos que historicamente foram descartados,

ridicularizados, infantilizados, assistencializados.

Corpos racializados,
corpos com deficiência,
corpos transviados,
corpos que

desafiam o tempo cronológico,
o padrão reprodutível,
a lógica colonial.

Não me interessa a coreografia da obediência.

Me interessa o tropeço,
o improviso,
o gaguejar,

Falo desde o Rio Grande do Norte.

Me fiz gente nas Minas Gerais.

A Dança-Tragédia é o corte.

A Casa Tomada é o abrigo.

O CIDA é a zona de invenção.

A audiodescrição é poesia.

O corpo é documento.

E a arte…

seguiremos coreografando brechas.

E onde houver impossibilidade,

dançaremos a reinvenção.

MANIFESTO
TO CHOREOGRAPH
THE BREACHES

I am an insurgent body.

I was pushed onto the stage
before I was even authorized to occupy the center.

And it was from this displacement that I learned to make a home.
in the fissure, in the excess, in the

mistake, in the noise, in what doesn’t fit
and, precisely because of that, overflows.

My art is not adornment.

It does not serve empty entertainment,
it does not serve aesthetic asepsis, it does not serve

political indifference.

It is denunciation, it is fissure, it is reverence and risk.

I create from leftovers, from scraps, from memories,
from forgotten gestures, from

denied dances, from silenced voices.

Edge-body,
I turn into scenic material
everything the norm tried to erase.

I work with precarity as poetics.

Not by romanticizing absence,
but by knowing that it is there, where everything is lacking, that

the most urgent vocabularies emerge.

My theater might be of earth,
might be of sweat, might be of flesh.

My dance might be of mourning,
celebration, and blood.

My technology is ancestral,
intuitive, repurposed,
made with what there is, with

what’s left, with what survives.

I do not believe in the neutrality of the stage.

Every aesthetic choice is a political choice.

That is why my commitment is
to the bodies historically discarded,

ridiculed, infantilized, treated as charity.

Racialized bodies,
bodies with disabilities,
queer bodies,
bodies that

defy chronological time,
the reproducible standard,
the colonial logic.

I am not interested in the choreography of obedience.

I am interested in the stumble,
the improvisation,
the stutter,
the gesture that does not repeat,

because that is where the alive resides.

My practice is crossed by radical listening,
by the pedagogy of risk, and by the ethics of presence.

I do not teach techniques; I teach openings, detours, drifts.

I do not choreograph movements;
I open spaces for them to happen.

I work with memory not as an archive,
but as urgency.

With accessibility not as charity,
but as poetic layer.

With collectivity not as a management strategy,
but as a way of survival.

My artistic practice does not fit in departments,

nor in calls for proposals that bureaucratize existence.

I speak from Rio Grande do Norte.

I became who I am in Minas Gerais.

I refuse to be captured by folklore that exoticizes or limits me.

My dance is not illustrative.

It is language.

It is symbolic dispute.

It is time that bleeds, that screams, that remakes itself on stage.

Dança-Tragédia is the cut.

Casa Tomada is the shelter.

CIDA is the invention zone.

Audiodescription is poetry.

The body is document.

And art…

Art is everything we have not yet been authorized to be.

If the world insists on denying us a future,

we will keep choreographing cracks.

And where there is impossibility,

we will dance reinvention.
